A Return to TPTCC

After being away from The Pits Touring Car Championship since their NASCAR Heat era, I finally made it back for their first rFactor test race last night at the fictional Mills Metropark Grand Prix circuit. Having spent the last few years racing online with Papyrus’ Grand Prix Legends and NASCAR sims, it was a change relearning with an ISI sim.

However, apart from some of the bugs and missing features pertaining to league results and such, rFactor feels great from a driving and racing standpoint.

I took it easy on the start, just trying to keep the tires under me, and getting comfortable. With some spins by others, I worked my way up to third, well behind the leaders.

Not quite halfway into the 50 minute race, I dropped the RR off at the exit of T1, and promptly shot back cross-track, tearing off the LF corner and killing the motor.

An inauspicious return, but still great fun. Can’t wait to rejoin the TPTCC gang after the Runoffs next weekend.
